What would be the most demanding game you want to play, and what about games that come out in the future. Do you know what resolution your monitor is?

This will do you fine so:

    Total build cost: €443.13 + €30 shipping
    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (SB-Version) €74.51
Xigmatek Asgard II Midi Tower - black/silver, ohne Netzteil €31.91
    Samsung SpinPoint F3 1000GB, SATA II (HD103SJ) €45.14
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W €41.11
Samsung SH-222AB bare schwarz SATA €16.52
    MSI H61M-E33 (B3), Intel H61, mATX, DDR3 €53.03

    Intel Core i3-2100 Box, LGA1155 €94.49
    XFX RADEON HD 5670 775M 1GB DDR3 DP HDMI DVI €52.77

Thats the German version of windows, but you can just download and burn the english version to a DVD from here. The license key is valid for all versions so thats all you need.

anyone have any opinions on the parts listed above before i get the credit card out

If you can, I'd stick this in, in place of the 5670. Should give you a bit more headroom with CoD. If not though, deconduo's build is what you should be looking at.

Ahh no. Stay away from 'Special Item' products, they are ones that have been opened and returned for some reason. They can often have missing parts or problems.

Secondly you can get a 6770 for cheaper, which is a much better card anyway :P

If you are using an old CRT monitor, then the 5670 should do you fine, I don't think it would be 1080p resolution.

BTW, they only take payment through bank transfer and not credit card. If thats a problem you might need to check out scan.co.uk instead.

Good to know! I'm not very well up on AMD cards, but I thought that with the 6 series, like-cards went down a number. The 6870 not being as powerful as the 5870, for example, or I would have suggested it.

And yeah, odds are it's not 1080p, but the better card will still help. Resolution only means so much.

The 6770 and 6750 are just rebranded 5770 and 5750 cards with a bios tweak. They essentially have the same performance.

For that kind of build, I think the extra cores of an AMD build will be better (although the 2300 will outperform it in single threaded tasks).
Here's a suggestion with an added 6770. Board and processor are a couple cents cheaper than an Intel build.

    Total build cost: €477.02 + €30 shipping
    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (SB-Version)|€74.51
Xigmatek Asgard, ATX, ohne Netzteil, schwarz|€32.63
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W|€41.11
    8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9|€33.65
    LiteOn iHAS122-18 schwarz SATA|€16.94
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Box, Sockel AM3|€93.37
    MSI 760GM-E51, Sockel AM3, mATX, PCIe|€52.02
    Club 3D Radeon 6770 1024MB, AMD Radeon 6770, PCI-Express|€87.65
    Samsung SpinPoint F3 1000GB, SATA II (HD103SJ)|€45.14

This would give you a small bit better performance for Black Ops, as its optimized for 4 cores. However my build would be better for the rest of the COD series as they are only optimized for 2 cores.

If you could find out the resolution of the monitor it would be great. If its 1080p then the 6770 would be a good choice, but the 5670 should play at max settings for anything lower.
