I'll just have to repeat the damn maths again

I have C and C1 driving licenses and the EFR.

By the time they recruit again i'm sure to have a C3 in maths :D

    feck it anyway.

    Hi,

To get into the HSE Ambulance Service in Ireland you must be over 21 with a clean full D1 and C1 licence, you also need a pass[D1] in maths and one science subject. If you failed maths and want to get into the ambulance service i'd advise you to repeat again and do a PLC in nursing studies in a local college near you while repeating that subject.

To be technically correct you only need the C1 to apply but by the time you graduate you need to have the D1 licence :D

    I'm 30 :o

For the patient transfer do i need my EMT?

You have a better chance of getting into the HSE with both licences as it helps in the interview process . Why make life harder for yourself when waitin to be called you could get both licences.

To transport a patient you need at least an EFR and an EMT thats the law, Most private companies are not looking for EMT'S anymore as the law is changing and nowdays to transfer a patient you need Paramedics, But get your EMT done with Civil Defence make contact with the college in Roscrea and see about getting onto a course.
