Windows General queries

Now probably these queries have been answered in various other threads and posts and I have tried to find them so bear with me please. I have a few queries in reference to windows as follows.

    • Warm edge spacer, are these really, really important. I see that some manufacturers are selling double glazing with aluminum spacers still however they introduce different "warm" spacers, be it steel or a composite material on a different double or even triple glazing.
    • Outward or inward opening, most companies I have come across appear to offer of inward opening, I assume as these are easily to seal. Has anyone any positives/negatives on inward/outward opening.
    • Irish Vendors. A lot of the say European windows companies have Irish Vendors, now what I am finding is that the vendors websites do not fill me with much confidence poor web design, out of date brochures, little or no information about the products. All this leave you going to the UK partners websites or the the manufactures website, which in turn try's to send you back to Ireland. Has anyone received costs from the Irish vendors and then requested costs from the UK or direct, how have the costs compared, and then successfully imported the windows.

    Inward opening:

    Pro
Easier to clean i.e. you can do it from inside the house.

    Con
Can't fit blinds easily without special measures being taken while building e.g create recess about the window for blind to be mouted in and into which it can be fully closed to allow the window to open inwards.

Thanks SAS I wouldn't have though about a recess for the blinds, but just looking at our current blinds, fully up, they measure 230mm so it's a big recess.
