    Hi,
We have front fog lamps on our LandCruiser but they are not working - don't think they have ever worked (but not sure) and its been through the NCT a couple of times.

Bulbs and fuses seem fine but wondering if front fogs are required to pass the test?

    Thanks

If they are there they have to work perfectly or not at all.

Cannot have broken lens, either way.

I don't think they test them, only dipped beams, indicators & parking lights iirc.

Theyre not a requirement under the rta, as long as they have no sharp edges etc you should be fine.

Are you sure... 'cos EVERYONE drives with them on! ;)

Are you one of the drivers that drive with fogs on all the time? Try testing then with dips turned on. As others have said foglamps are not a test item unless there is something dangerous about them.

    :D

Since we're going to get technical about it, front lights as described are actually

Spot lights, not fog lights. :pac:

Edit: I drive with my dipped lights & spots on all of the time, they dont dazzle anyone so I dont see why such a question has been asked?

I've just done the NCT and didn't see the guy check the fogs (front or rear). I'd say you'll be fine.

Described as spot lights where? In NCT manual... I don't think so.

They are described as front fog light, and you are not allowed to use them until there is fog, or visibility is limited by heavy rain or other severe weather conditions.

Otherwise you are not allowed to use them on public roads.

And yes - they do dazzle everyone.

I'm pretty sure my fogs weren't looked at or tested in my NCT either.

Described by the manufacturer of my car as spot lights, the fogs are on the back, the NCTS didn't manufacture my car, did they make yours?

Am I not allowed? I beg to differ.

And no, they do not dazzle everyone, I have them adjusted correctly as I do my dipped lights. Also My full beams shine bright on ahead because I want them to. - Have you inspected my front spot lights CiniO?

Please tell me what make and model is it, so I can verify.

Ok, would you like my pps number & bank details too? :pac:

Just leave it buddy, I'm just winding you up, besides, even if they are called fog lights, I'm still going to use them.

Your passport number would be nice as well :P

I actually always thought, that admiting to break the law is against the charter of this forum.
