Radon Sump

    Just want to know what way the builder should be doing the radon sump and pipes as was reading on here that sometimes houses should have 2 sumps. House is 317 sq. metres overall and raft foundation will be 180 sq. metres. So any ideas on how many sumps etc. are needed and also should we leave openings in the internal walls as I read that on here somewhere! Sorry but haven't a clue and want to know what's goin on. Engineer will be double checking everything anyway

    On face value it would appear that one sump would be sufficient. See TGD C - page 12 onwards of the pdf document

    The link below may be of some help to you self build. Also, don't forget the external 'Cap' which may be used for an external radon vent if needed. Typical arrangements showing opes through the rising walls are shown to give you an idea.
