You could hold off and go blackberry picking on the quieter country lanes of NCD. Odd crabapple trees still about too if you know where to go.

I can confirm that the nearest place is Rathfarnham unfortunately. Blackberry picking is good in late September / early October. I've done it the last 3 years. You need to find a good spot though. Took me a while to get mine.
