I turned down the volume on my Sony Vaio laptop not realising that in doing so it removes the icon. When I clicked on other icons it doesn't give me the option to get the volume icon/or sound back on do my laptop is effectively mute until a solution. What should I do to get the volume and sound back?

    Hi,
    This should do the job.
    1)click the start menu.
2)click the "run" button if your on xp its underneath control panel,
If your on Vista/7 just search programs for run.
    3)Type cmd and click ok
    4) In the command prompt windows write "run sndvol32.exe"

This should work on most windows computers, However saying that, it doesnt work on my current one.
You have to type " start soundman.exe" into the command prompt window on this one maybe yours is the same.

    Hope this helps
    Jack :D
