Not websites, but one way of making friends is a shared activity. What interests you?

Like Victor says, shared hobbies are a great way of meeting people.

Meetup.com is also another site where you can search by activity and go along to nights out etc.

ive no real hobbies so a website is my only option, rite now...

Or this might be a good time to find a new hobby - is there anything you've always wished you could do? Maybe find a group that does it or take a class in it or even find websites about that thing (whether it's music or singing or art or sailing or whatever!) and meet people that way?

Yeah - go to meetup.com as another poster said.

There's groups there for everything ! (Depends where you're located though but if you're in a big city like dublin then you're grand)

There's pub crawls, wine tasting, chess, knitting, girls-only meet ups - anything you want really.

So don't look past that if you ask me.

The only reason people join that site is to meet other people so It's exactly for people in your position.

+1 for meetup.com if you're in or near a city. It's been brilliant for me.

Keep an eye out, now that autumn is coming in, for night classes. Perhaps something there might take your fancy. It's always good to broaden your horizons and you might discover something new to enjoy. How about seeing either if there are local societies which are starting up again for the winter? The likes of cinema clubs, musical societies etc. Anything that gets you out of the house and gets you into contact with the same faces week in, week out for a while.

Obelisk, this is an advice forum - please keep replies on topic and helpful to the OP and keep the juvenile quips for the forums that appreciate them.

Be aware that off-topic and unhelpful posting can earn you a ban from this forum.

If you haven't already done so, please take the time to read the forum rules in the charter.

    Many thanks.
