tried out the panorama function on my x100 - edited the pic to give it an old school feel.

the mottling adds nothing to the pic; it doesn't make it look old, it makes it look odd.

I do like the shot, but agree with magicbastarder - the mottling looks like dirt on the lens or something. Ditching the mottling altogether might be a bit more visually appealing.

I take it that this is an auto stitch function on the camera? Think my G9 has something similar but I've only used it once. It's limited to working as jpeg only. Ive been doing some stitched panoramic shots lately myself. Shoot in raw and put together with Photomerge. Works quite well even hand held.

This one is quite nice except for the mottling, as has been pointed out.

unmottled version - it is very easy to get carried away with snapseed on the ipad;)

@cabainsail - the x100 autostitches - i basically pan the camera left to right along an artificial horizon in the EVF - there is a 120 degree option (this shot) and a 180 degree. - With a monopod I think i would get a smoother shot (if you look closely you can see a few kinks in the photo)

Love the panorama... especially since it's Ballymoney Beach in Wexford (hope I'm right now!). Used to spend all summers there and now most weekends. What location did you take this from OP? The path coming from Sandycove?

    Anyway, I think it's a good panorama but maybe I'm biased :)

This is one I took last week. It's the Eastern Beach on Moteton Island. Hand held shots put together with Photomerge. Not sure how many images but they were all Raw

How do you do a panorama on a beach?

Surely the waves will keep on moving thus ruining the continuity as each image overlaps!?
