Opel Astra - Smoke from Exaust

Sold my 02 Astra today and the guy came back 20 minutes later with smoke coming from the exaust whenever you accelerate. They had given it a good look over with a lot of engine revving. I've left the car idle for a while now and can't reproduce this by revving at a standstill.

Smoke was a lightish grey colour.

    Anyone any ideas?

The only thing I did was fill up the engine water beore he left as he'd noticed there was only a drizzle in there. I'm kind of wondering is it water that was meant to go in there now. If anyones familiar with the engine it was just beside the wiper water on the right hand side. Yellow cap

I think it was the coolant tank I put the water in without any coolant. Thinking thats probably not it now
