Downloaded updated app in iTunes but it's still listed as an available update

I'm on iTunes 10.4.0.80 under Win7, I click on 'Apps' and check for updates and there's an update for Twittter so I click the 'Get Update' button. I know the update was downloaded successfully because there is now a file called Twitter 3.3.5.ipa in my recycle bin.

Trouble is that the Twitter icon and the 'Get Update' button are still there on the 'My apps updates' screen when they should have disappeared as soon as the update was downloaded and it still says '1 update available' at the bottom of the main apps screen. This has been happening for the past week or so.

I then sync with the device (iTouch G4) and the sync runs to completion but the update is still listed as available on iTunes and when I look at the iTouch the Twitter version is still 3.3.5 so it wasn't updated.

I then click on 'Get Update' again on iTunes, it downloads again and now the update disappears for Twitter. I then have two Twitterxxx.ipa files in my recycle bin. Next time I sync the update is sent to the iTouch.

    Anyone else see this problem?

That happens me sometimes with other apps. What I find works sometimes is to go to the apps folder and see if the app is there twice, if so delete one of them and try the update again. If that fails delete the app in iTunes and redownload it from the iTunes Store.
