    Hi Everyone,

I'm currently a single parent to a 2year old girl, but thinking about moving in with my boyfriend. I have been told even though he is not her father that i will lose my 'one parent family payment'.

He is currently unemployed due to the current economy, however I work but my hours are never regular, a full week my wage would be €210.00-€0.00 as some weeks I could not have any hours at all...

Could anyone tell me, as I am working, would I be expected to support my boyfriend on my own, even though my wages are below average??? and is it even worth my while?

    Thank you.

If your boyfriend is claiming JSB/JSA he can claim for you and your child. The amount he gets for you would be means-tested against your wages. They will look for your payslips to get an average of your weekly wage, so have as many ready as you can, plus your P60.
You will no longer be able to claim OPFP, because you will be a 2 parent family.
Only you know if it is worth it.

yeah it counts as co-hab,doesn't matter if he is the father of your child or not.
Hard to give an answer regarding your boyfriends situation is he on JSB or JSA?You may be entitled to sign on for the days you dont work.

I think yes you will be means tested as if you are all a family unit. But yo may be entitled to FIS. But you have to work a minimum of 19 hrs between you both. The only thing is it takes months to come through in the meantime you just have to survive somehow.
