Although this guy isn't famous, I always liked him. He was a guy I worked for who only did his inter cert. He's in his 70's and has been bankrupt twice and a proper multi-millionaire three times. He always encouraged me to get an education or a skill. He said the days of emmigrating, working your way up and finding a niche where you could grow a business with hard slog are long behind us. There'll always be exceptions but they're getting rarer and rarer as time passes.


I'm actually regretting not taking up an offer he made to me. He'd put me through a two year training course and set me up within his business. It wasn't a third level course but a Citys and Guilds thing and I balked at that and went with the safe route. I'd have been out of training and long established, possibly looking at a global career by now if I took it.
