Hi all, i just purchased a 2001 suzuki vitara 4wd passenger vehicle and now trying to get booking for test as was up end of July there.

Its not 10 years old until 27th August so does that mean if i can get it tested and passed before this date that I will get 2 years test cert instead of the one

You will get a one year certificate.

The change in law was introduced on June 1st 2011. After this date any vehicle coming for its 10th anniversary test will get a 1 year certificate.

The vehicle would need to have been tested and passed before June 1st 2011 in order to get a 2 year certificate.

As a vehicle can be tested up to three months in advance of it due date, the previous owner could have had the test done anytime during May.
