they wont sell if there overpriced, or indeed they are overpriced so that the seller is allowing for some haggle.

but like everything else, some people think because its a reccession things have to be cheaper, they are worth what somebody is willing to pay for them and tbh, 320d's expecially MSport versions are selling quite well. when i sold mine last week, i had about 10 calls for it and it sold to the first caller 3 hours after going online, although he didnt pick up the car until a week later.

any links to specific cars your looking at?

Dont know is the OP buying or selling and not having a go:), but one thing which grinds my gears about whats 'overpriced' and what isn't is the fact that some cars hold their value very well.
VW Golfs, for example are considered overpriced VAG sh1tboxes by many people on here(see dreamer of the year thread). Truth of the matter is they hold their value very well, because there are lots of people who will buy them hence the price stays up. They cant all be overvalued!!!

Same story for the 320d's, if the majority seem overpriced then they are holding their value well. (all this is provided the ones OP says are overpriced are selling... otherwise my rant is null and void:o)

One other thing about donedeal, the cars which are good deals usually sell within a few hours (max few days)like kceire's, and are taken down straight away, so searching often only reveals loads of the ones which haven't sold and remain for a while...

Bms diesels are more powerful than their petrol counterparts since the e46 and have always hav shedloads of torque. Is it fun living in 1980? I hav a 320d m-sport myself. great car i get 50mpg out of it and i wouldn't be a fuel conscious driver. I bought mine last june for about 9k and they dont seem to hav dropped any since which seems a bit odd to me

bhp, 0-60 and top speed of bmw diesels are all better than they're petrol equivalents for the last 10 years. As are the torque and mpg figures for much longer so no i wasn goin on bhp alone ;)

07 is 177bhp engine AFAIK. Which I think is different.

Not sure if it's the M47 block. WIKI says N47.

Should be a chain if it's anything like the other BMW's of that year.

And at what mileage should the chain be done?
Also its a 12 year old and the mileage is 90,000, does that seem a bit low?

hers is defo 163. im 100% sure of it. accordin to wiki the 163 was 06-07 and the 177 was 07-10 so theyres prob a bit of overlap hers is an early 07 one so that might explain it

Chains aren't replaced. The tensioner can be if you hear a ticking. What kind is it at a matter of interest? http://realoem.com/bmw/select.do?kind=P&series=E36&body=com&model=316g&arch=0 will tell you what you have.

Most 2007 20d's are since they are mostly sold at the start of the year. But since it's pretty much an identical engine with a better "map" on it, it shouldn't sound different.

Thats why im so confused by it. it could be the exhaust or somthing but it jus sounds awful. Like i hate puttin the foot down in it cuz it makes the noise!

I know with VAGs the higher the tune the noisier they become. Proper diesel rattle. Even the common rails.

the LCI for the 20d engine was introduced in September 2007 so any cars built before Sep 07 have the 163bhp engine and any after, the 177bhp engine.

The easiest way to know the difference between the 163bhp and 177bhp is that the 177bhp version has the stop/start system as part of Efficency Dynamics. When stationery, put the car in neutral, take your foot off the clutch and the engine will cut out, put the clutch back in and the engine starts up again. There is also a button located below the cd player to override the stop/start system.
