    Hi,
Just wondering do people think its too early to wear black tights in September? I have a wedding to attend in early September and I'm thinking of wearing a dress that I got for a dinner dance early last spring but I wouldn't wear it with bare legs. I would wear a thin pair of tights but i'm wondering is it going to be a bit wintery looking for that time of year. Some opinions would be greatly appreciated! :)

You havn't said what colour your dress is - but you can great barely there sheer tights which give a sun kissed look - Aristoc Ultra Shine Natural are great - also if you prefer sheer black tights Jonathan Aston have a fab lace design pair. Us Irish ladies wear tights all year round its the curse of our Celtic Skin!

The top half of the dress is black then there is a grey bow around the middle and then the bottom half is a grey, white & black pattern. It does look nice with tights but I was just afraid it would be too early for them. I think i'll get a pair of the tights you were talking about and see how that looks! Thanks :)

Marks and Spencer do 'oiled leg' look tights. They sound weird but look very natural on. Don't worry about wearing tights, Kate Middleton is rarely seen without them and always looks fab.

Tights are a must at a wedding. Far too many Irish women leave their legs bare - really uncouth imo.

^^^^ Eh, wha? Uncouth?! Fair enough if the skirt is ridiculously short, but other than that I don't see why tights are "a must"! Strange thing to say!

OP, personally I think dark/opaque tights are grand for nights out but not for a wedding. If you don't want to go bare legged then I'd opt for a good pair of skin/tan coloured ones.

I got a few pairs of tights in Marks and Spencer's a few weeks ago for a wedding that were skin colour and they went really well. I usually find it impossible to find skin colour tights that don't look odd, but the M&S ones look really natural and totally covered up all the bare leg problems I usually get (my legs go purple when I'm cold!). I'd recommend them to anyone.

That said, September isn't traditionally that warm, so you'd probably get away with black tights, but the wedding I was at last week there were mainly skin colour tights or bare legs. I'd go with the skin colour tights if I were you.

    Definitely not too early.

I wore black tights to a wedding in June a few years ago and i wasn't the only one!

    I'd wear tanned/skin-coloured tights.
... But then again I'm allergic to black tights unless it's wintertime

Sorry to hi-jack but where does the palest tan tights? I was put off them in the teen disco days by never being able to find a pair that looked remotely natural! I seem to remember finding a good pair in Dunnes once but could never find them again.
