    Value???

In terms of what? Weight, aero, price, rim life?

With the limited description, my advice is to pick two from Cost, Weight and Strength.

The weight on carbon wheels is similar to a good set of alu just there aero affect on carbons like Zipps so I'd be more inclined to go for the same but with aero:D

You aren't making a lot of sense. Weight on carbon wheels varies massively, I have two pairs and one is 500g heavier than the other (Zipp 404 tubs & Mavic Cosmic Carbones.)

There is really only a point to carbon wheels if racing, they give you seconds, or fractions of a second in a sprint, but that may be the difference between first and second.

Best value will be the new Soul carbon range that will be out around december, they ve changed the design on there rims and gone to a winder rim width. If i was spending money again id buy Soul

Not that I plan to get carbon wheels but the Planet-X ones are discounted at the mo. Whats the consensus on these? As stiff as easy singles?

There is even an unbranded set if you're a gear snob: http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/planet-x-carbon-wheels

Best value is undoubtedly second hand imo. Keep an eye out now that the racing season is over.

I find the Reynolds RZR to offer best value for money myself, no idea what the riff raff and commoners ride however. Probably Planet X wheels or something ghastly like that.

Seriously though, I know someone who built those made in china rims (same as the planet x r50's) onto a set of DT Swiss 240 hubs and spokes and they are fantastic. Cost about 700 built for a similar weight to Zipp 404's with better hubs (albeit less aero rims).

If anyone is going to go for carbon wheels one thing I bet you never thought would be a concern would be lack of balance due to valve weight. Maybe you did worry about it and have had sleepless nights at the thoughts.

Well worry no more, because Miche have found the solution to the problem that never existed

So after looking at loads of companys for carbons and instead of opening a new thread I'd just ask here!

I heard today that theres a limit to deep section carbons for road racing at 80mm, is this true?
