You need to install HTC Sync, that will also install the drivers.

You can also "tether" i.e. use your HTC Desire as a wifi hotspot for your win7 computer if it has a wifi connection by going (on your Desire) to Settings, Wireless & networks, and selecting "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot".

It works very well. I use it very often for my Samsung netbook, and for my iPad.

Yeah, installed it and when i plugged my phone in it showed up as ABD (or ACB or something) in Other Devices.

All sorted now ... i dont know exactly what happened since but device manager its showing as Android HTC Phone and i can connect away fine now. I have a also turned on the second in from the right ...
