I have a 16GB IPAD and was just inquiring what is the best way to increase storage space on this device. Apologies if this has been gone through in depth elsewhere.

    Thanks in advance.

What's taking up the 16gb of storage?

Maybe try something like dropbox or zumocast for holding all your music, video and photos etc so you only access what you need. They also let you download files to the device itself for on the go.

I remember coming across an article on how to load movies directly from the camera SD card adaptor, if you have a quick google you'll probably find it. Phone needs to be jailbroken from what I recall.

this lad air stash would do the job.
Not sure where to buy it in europe though.

    http://www.airstash.com/

it seems to have a mini web server built in so you can play movies and that straight from it if i read it correctly

might be a moot idea anyway with the Apple cloud coming on lone in a few weeks/months...

though then you'd want an unlimited data plan, and be happy with apple to look after / approve the contents of your media library

iCloud is only good for syncing. Apple aren't interested in streaming and online storage.

What if your library is bigger han one of your iDevices?
Surely there's a manual sync or check box type option/

Many thanks for all your suggestions and replies. also just looking what is the best(cheapest) connection from ipad to tv. ipad2 seems to have mirroring and looked on apple store and saw apple digital av adapter which is a bit expensive.

You can get an iOS compatibale external harddrive, afaik Seagate and Kingston do one and it streams content from the drive to your iPad over your wireless connection.

Mind you, the Kingston hasn't been released in Europe yet. Not sure about the Seagate. There is a 3rd one out there but I can't remember the name of the manufacturer.

    Google is your friend!

Yup but no one is buying other tablets:

I think it will take a while before competitors to the iPad catch up. It's not about the spec or some minor feature. It's about user experience.

Not to mind, developers not interested in creating Honeycomb apps - my main reason for going iPad, after initial interest in Android Tablets

Does the HP tablet run Android?

Heh I believe that tablets are just gimmicks. If you want to be truly productive get a laptop.

Cheap android tablets as reviewed by Ars Technica:

I mostly use my iPad as a consumer device rather than something to work on but I believe they have the potential for productivity too (just not fully realized yet).

If you have an Apple TV, with the upcoming iOS 5, you can wirelessly mirror from iPad tom Apple TV using AirPlay. No wires needed.

    Dropbox
    Zumocast (RIP)
    Audiogalaxy
    Airplayit
    Teamviewer
    USBDisk
    SugarSync
    Pocketcloud
    Splashtop
    CineXplayer
    Air Video

    All may prove useful.

who said anything about wanting to be productive? tablets are for chilling out with. no one in their right mind would use one for serious work.
