Channel 4 problem

I have Sky but am experiencing a problem with Channel 4. It works 90% of the time except for when a feature film comes on. I get a blue error message telling me I can't watch the film. Afterwards when the film is over everything returns to normal and I can watch the channel again. Does anybody know why this is happening?

Yeah,,,,Sometimes some programmes are blocked as not to infringe with other channels here showing the same thing. I.E. TV3,3E,,etc....

There is a sticky guide here with the un-blocked Channel 4 on it...Just add it to your "Extra channels"..

If you're gretting the old "This Program Is Not Available" message, then it's because of broadcast rights. It's probable that RTÉ or TV3 have the rights to show this movie in Ireland.

So when a broadcaster from outside the country is showing it, it will be blocked to irish viwers. Up here in the north the same thing happens the other way round, when RTÉ are showing a movie or sports content that a UK channel has rights to, then it's blocked up here.

You can get round this by tunning in the 'Free to View' version of Channel 4 in 'Other Channels' on your Sky Box.

  • Jeez Boards.ie is great! You have a question that's bothering you for ages and you can get it answered almost instantly. I even asked a Sky rep that called round the other night(!) and she didn't know. Thanks guys! :)
