Songwritter/composer and guitarist looking to start a Metal band in Dublin

I'm a guitarist, mostly rhythm guitar (I'm not very comfortable with Metal solos but, but I'm very good in rhythm), and above all a song composer. I've been living in Dublin for almost a year now and I'm here to stay, and I feel the need to find bandmates to start something.
As you can guess by my username, my main influence is Metallica, mostly with the Black Album (I'm not talking about Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters, I'm talking about My Friend of Mysery and The God That Failed) and other stuff like The Things that Should not Be. Other influences include but are not limited to Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Slayer, and Blues in general has certainly left its mark on me. I would describe my music as a kind of slow Thrash Metal, with a big importance on heavy atmospheres and melody. I will insist on playing at least some of my songs (I have a dozen or so, but I probably won't keep them all), and the rest is free for covers or your own songs if you have some material. If we have a good chemistry we can even write songs together, which I used to do a lot in my old band.

I'm looking for a full band: a lead guitarist, a drummer, a bassist, and a singer. You don't have to be a virtuoso (I'm far from being one myself), I'm mostly looking for chemistry, and people who can at least handle themselves with an instrument. As for the singing, most kinds of voices are welcomed, as I can imagine my songs go well with various vocal styles like James Hetfield, Tom Araya, Ronnie Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Jim Morison, Robert Plant...

I'm in Rathfarnam at the moment but I'm planning to move towards the city center when I have the money (I work in Swords, which is about as far as you can get from my place), but I can move around in town with the buses anyway. I'm looking for both bass and guitar, so just pick whatever you prefer. I'm basically free any week end if you want to have a jam and see how it goes. I'm a decent singer, I just can't do the high shrieks, because I sound too black-metally if I do :P

even though my all-time favourite band is Iron Maiden, I'm really not looking for a high-pitched voice. My songs are very low, tuned half a step down and everything, so a Bruce Dickinson or a Rob Halford would probably not do the trick. I'm doing Thrash anyway, not Power, so your inability to go to higher grounds shouldn't be a problem.

Hey man.

Delighted to see somebody wanting to start a band with EXACTLY the same taste in music that I have. Usually, id have to compromise on something!
Anyway, I play guitar a while now, and would also consider myself a handy enough rythm guitarist. I play loads of Metallica, megadeth and loads of other stuff whenever I hear something mew and cool. But it always comes back to thrash in the end! Whenever I've tried writing, it's always melodic thrash sounding. I've learned load of solos, not perfectly, just for the craic. Starting learning scales and stuff recently, and after a small hiatus (took up drums for a while) from guitar, Im trying to get much better at lead stuff. From what you've said, I reckon musically we are on the same page.
I also have a Roland TD12 drum kit that I do a good bit of jamming on. I'm not a drummer, but I have the kit for any recording in the future. It's cool enough. The major problem, I would imagine, would be finding a drummer / place to drum in Dublin. I'm from celbridge, but have a car, so transport isn't an issue.
Would love the hook up for a jam dude. Hit me up if your interested! Would love to get something solid going, with a view to recording / gigging.
