    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for advice on what would be the ideal type of cars to buy and break. I have access to all tools and transport etc... So no hassle there.

Looking at around €400ish maybe more per car, currently have a Puma and its very slow, was thinking maybe a Fiesta Mk4 ?

I know my Fords but is there anything else I should consider that would be a quick breaker? Starlets/Glanzas etc....

    Thanks

I'll be honest, a car to break is a car to break, it won't matter as long as you got it for around its scrap value. I've stripped too many cars, from Opel Corsas to a Mercedes 380SE. All money pulled back when weighed in. Go for stuff thats high in demand, Toyotas and Fords alike ;)

    Cheers :)

Only asked cause the Puma is very slow to break, so was looking at more main stream cars.

I recon luxobarges would be a good way to go. They aren't popular in ireland due to tax and other things. I'm thinking BMW E38 or suchlike. Only problem is that I dont think you'll get one for 400e. But I think you could make a few quid, especially if you put stuff up on eBay and ship across europe (smaller bits). I think if you can find a car thats not so popular in Ireland, but is popular abroad you'll be on a winner.

Never thought about that TBH, I was just sticking to the owners forums when selling.

Will only have 2 cars max at a time, only want to do it on a small scale.

What about turbo cars, given your chose username :) There's a few quid to be made on rebuilt turbo units if you have the time/inclination to learn how to do it (unless you know already ;) )

JMO, but the good thing about the luxobarges is that the owners are probably more likely to buy the fiddly little interior bits and whatnot to make it look nice as they typically have a little more pride in the car. Just a hunch. But 20euro here, 20euro there for a couple of interior/cosmetic bits and bobs might add up quick...

Not really interested in repairs etc..

Just looking to buy UK/Crashed/NCT failures for a few hundred and make a bit of a profit back.

I'v been buying and selling things for a few years, so I think its time to move up the ladder now. :)

This sort of thing is what I'd go for, http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2438740 but maybe there is other cars I should be looking at.

    Cheers

A guy on the Irish Volvo forums is sending two 480's for scrap and is offering either of them to anybody for free.

Would you like me to let him know that you're interested?
