Transferring my "Change" from 3V to moneybookers questions.

    Hi,

I currently have over €40 in change on my 3V vouchers.
I had over €50 but some vouchers disappeared..:confused:

Is there anyway i can transfer my money to moneybookers without having the majority of it ripped out from under me?

For Example. If I have 5 Vouchers

    Voucher 1 = €2.39
    Voucher 2 = €21.19
    Voucher 3 = €1.14
    Voucher 4 = €3.64
    Voucher 5 = €9.80

I cannot transfer vouchers 1 and 2 within 3V as it costs €2.50
I cannot leave them there because they expire.
    I cannot redeem them.
    I can transfer 4, 5 and 6 to voucher 1 losing €7.50 and voucher 3 (€8.64 altogether)
After already paying them €5 per voucher.:mad::mad::mad:
So to have those 5 vouchers will have cost me €25 + €8.64 = €33.64

These aren't my vouchers, but very similar, i have 8 vouchers and stand to lose over €18 i think, after the 8 vouchers already cost me €5 each and then i lost €1 on each UK£/US$ transaction (for conversion fees)
and another €1 on each card when i used paypal (not verifying card, but some handling fee).

I know i have already lost between €30 and €50 over the last year, but i was under the impression they would pay me by cheque, all of my leftover cash, at maybe a fee of €5 for the lot, when i asked for it. I have just found out that they don't. All my money has actually "Expired" and for the remaining vouchers, it is €2.50 per voucher to get it back..

Sorry for the long winded essay, it should also serve as a warning to anyone in the same boat.

Does anybody know of a way i can transfer my remaining cash somehow, to moneybookers or similar, losing as little as possible?

I Really hope someone can help me, because this is horrible..

Set up 2 paypal accounts and add 3V cards to one and send them all to the other yes you will have to pay small fees but its the best option.

    Hi, Thanks for reply.

I don't really want to deal with Paypal either.

But the way you are suggesting sounds okay, so i may try it, i'll check how much it's gonna cost me first.

Same thing i would be doing with Moneybookers, except just cutting out Paypal.
It would be from Visa to moneybookers, but i think Moneybookers charge €2.99 to verify each card.
That's the part i'm trying to avoid. Minimal costs is what i'm really looking for.

I don't think there's any way to do this. Stop using 3V would be your best bet. 3V is probably the worst of all the pre-pay credit cards available, and all though the charges look small, you've found out that there are a ton of hidden charges, and you lose any change left on them.

Yeah, i'm cutting up the card when i've done all this. I never want to deal with them again. I had queries with them last year, and i was led to believe, my money wasn't gone, it was all "hidden" and i could redeem the whole lot at a later date, so i was letting it build up. I'd say i have lost a fair bit, and i did a couple of transfers that i wasn't happy about, the €2.50 being the reason, but needed to at the time. I'd say they have made a fortune off me..

AAaaaaagghhh!! , i also told the guy i rang that i thought they were a scam, and that i had been led to believe that i could redeem it all. He told me "You don't have to use the 3V card."

This is what I hated about 3v, the small amounts that are left on the cards afterwards!

You could buy credit with the large one for your phone. The smaller ones are difficult, because any fees for transferring / withdrawing make it pointless - you could see if there's any cheap things on www.dealextreme.com that would interest you, or buy a few songs on itunes (most of which cost €1.29 these days), or buy apps if you have a smartphone.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, it's an annoying situation!
