    Hi,

Quick query as regards thermal power stations. Can anyone define what small, medium and large thermal power stations in terms of there export capacity (MW) for me. I am not sure what they are.

    for example are they

Small plants - anything up to 300MW
    Medium plants - 300MW to 1000MW
Large Plants - 1000MW or above

    Many Thanks

Depends on what you are looking to define.

Thermal stations can come in units as small as 100MW and are called Open Cycle Gas Turbines (OCGT)

I think that you will find generators defined more often as baseload (400-1000MW CCGT for example), mid-merit (200-400MW) and peakers (100MW, OCGT)
