    Hi all
I am real novice- I have a 3g dongle supplied by vodafone and I have attached it to a zoom travel router. This setup is in my car by the way. I would like to network an ip camera on this setup so the idea is I can view the camera from any computer over the internet. Now the question, am I able to port forward the camera ? I am having trouble accessing the public ip of the vodafone dongle (the public ip keeps changing every time I google it- any help greatly appreciated

Post split to it's own thread. Don't drag up old and unrelated topics.

You don't port forward the camera, you port forward in the router. The device is irrelevant. It's all about what the router can do, and what the network allows.

Your public IP will not be static for one, so it is going to change. You'll need to be able to set up something like DynDNS to get around this. The network may also employ traffic shaping and port blocking to stop you doing this too.

Even if you do manage to set everything up correctly, it still might not work. Running any kind of server over a 3G connection is bad news, and often doomed to failure. I have no idea if it will or won't work, but I wouldn't be counting on it.
