Living in a tiny flat with my friend in Galway we used to have this on constant rotation. We were poor but we were miserable. Good times. Hard to believe it's been ten years though. It's such a great album.

Absolutely fantastic album which I still play on a consistent basis. I fondly recall disliking 'Hard To Explain' so much that it was the only tune that was subject to skipping and then one day feeling it 'click'. Easily one of my favourite Strokes tunes now.

I remember i was working in a fast food place and i got home about 2am turned on MTV and "someday" was on, think it was a live recording for the NME awards? Anyway i remember thinking "wow this is great" and the album didn't disappoint when i got it either. Liking some of those covers cheers OP

Remember this being on at a party about 6 months after its release and everybody singing every word and dancing along. Great night.

Amazing album, every song a winner. Saw this in 2001 and it blew me away, had to find out more instantly.

Great band live too, the Alexandra Palace recordings from 2003 that were intended for a live album that never was are some of the most energetic live recordings I have ever heard. They opened with Reptilia (know its not on Is this It but still) and this sounds absolutely epic to me. A young Alex Turner was in the audience that night I heard him saying in an interview, taking some notes. All the other songs that night are up on Youtube too:

Saw them in the TBMC and Olympia around this time. They have been hit and miss after that for me. New album is mostly win though. They have a pretty low output for being on the go 10 years now I realise it's been 10 years, or so it seems to me, the gaps between albums just seem to be longer than they actually are

Is this it really reminds me of a place and time, I also recall loving that Hives album that was out around that time. It had a red cover and it's name escapes me

I thought the new album was almost totally lose myself, but I'll forgive them for just being amazing.

Liked this album 10 yrs ago alot but wouldn't dare listen to it now. Don't think it has aged well and I stopped listening to it pretty quickly. Bubblegum for the ears Ted?

i have to disgree with you on that. It sounds as amazing as when it first came out. One of my top 5 five records of all time. I taught they did a great folow up album with Room on Fire, which really couldn't top the debut but still a cracking album. After that its been hit and miss.
