turn it on and make sure it works. Dont give it back to him to put it in original box. Once you are happy hand over the cash and not the computer

Do you know how to check the spec? i.e. ram size, HD, graphics cards etc.

Not sure if people can put fake listings on a mac, like have it say it has 4gb ram when it only has 2 or something.

If the price is too low something is often dodgy..

He has paper work like a document looks like a receipt, but doesnt have the box, which is why Im concerned,is there any way you can check if it had any service issues or if it was stolen by the serial number, its an Asian lad thats selling it and its not that I dont trust him because of his race, its because when I Google fake mac book, all I see is that it happens in Asian countries, he seems fairly easygoing hes happy for us to meet him in his house and all , am I just being to cautious?

Don't meet him alone bring someone with you. Also if it has no box make sure it has all warranty docs, manuals and software on cd's.
