These .log files keep appearing in my Applications folder I noticed today. There was a few from the 8th of August, I deleted them and now they are back and updated saying Aug 15th. The thumbnail appears to say "Warning" on it.

What are they and are they a threat?

upnp_trace1.log - upnp_trace5.log is showing up at the moment.

Have you a media server application installed? Vuze, PS3 Media Server, etc? UPNP is a networking protocol used by these applications to stream to your media devices.

I have Vuse. It makes sense since Mondays are when I download some things that are newly available. It's never happened before the 8th. So would it be safe to assume they are non-threatening?

Looks like they are just log files. It shouldn't be depositing them in the applications folder though. Try putting Vuze into its own folder or see if there's a location setting in its preferences. Or switch to something that isn't bloated Java crap.
