Why do I keep getting these useless "memo style" print options?

I have a normal workplace Windows PC and networked printer.

Usually, if I decide to print something that has, say, come in on an email, I get the normal printing choice of print all, print current page, print selection, etc.

However every so often, I get this rubbish choice of "memo style" with the choice of printing "even pages" or "odd pages", but no other choice. This layout is particularly common with, for example, Aer Lingus booking confirmation emails.

Can anyone tell me (1) why this happens sometimes and not others, and (b) whether there is any way of changing from one print window to the other when it happens, or better still, preventing it from happening at all?

    All advice gratefully received.

You need to set up your default printer settings.

Its for windows XP, bit much the same for all Windows OS's

Big Lar, thanks for that, but I'm afraid that on my system I don't seem to get a layout tab.

Also don't forget, I usually am getting the preferred option of printing current page, selection, etc as I want it, and it is only now and again that I am getting stuck with the "Memo style" version.

The mystery is why this happens with some emails (e.g. the ones from Aer Lingus) and not with others.

Could be a driver issue. Have you got on to your local IT to update\reinstall the driver?
