Any good hoovers out there around €120 or is that possible. Is it inevitable you just have to pay €250 for the Dyson?

I have a Miele S5211 which is a great vacuum cleaner. You'd get one for about €180 in the sales at the moment.

Have had a Bosch 1800 W Hepafilter vacuum for 5 years and its bulletproof after all that we've thrown at it here - smallish unit not too heavy to bring round the place and vacuum bag capacity is good

By the way if you are going for a more expensive vacuum don't go for the Dyson.

For around the same price Nilfisk are the best vacuum on the market hands down.

Just FYI, if you're going to go searching on the internet for a good price don't use hoover as a search term, use vacuum cleaner. Hoover's a brand name.

    Go for a henry:D.

We had one for over 21 years and it's still going strong:) All parts the original. Didn't have room to bring it with us when we moved house so bought a henry Xtra:D

    Simply brilliant:)

    See

I'm looking for a new one too and won't get a Dyson again. "Never loses suction"?? Bullsh*t. Useless on carpet.

Paddles Nilfisk are bringing out a new model at around the 149 mark for household use. Trade shows were on this week. Not sure when it'll be but very soon I think

Just bought a new Henry to replace one I left at another address. They are better than any Dyson and I've had a few of those.

Easy glide, powerful for their size and simple to use. Great cord rewind too. 95 Euro from Amazon.

    TT

I have to say I am very happy with my Dyson (DC05). I have had it 10+ years and it works fine. The after sales service is first class. You pay €90 (all in) and they come to your home. Replace all the parts that are getting on and no fuss.

I had them in this week (the youngest broke the cable winder), they looked over it and are now replacing the motor (said it was no performing 100%, I had not noticed), replacing the head, again as with the motor, I had no idea and will supply the missing tools for €12.00 (stairs mini head).

I think €90.00 every 10 years is a small price. I have to get a new filter every 2 years (€13.00). I am very happy. I may be wrong but do the others offer a fixed service price? Have you checked to see it your existing clearer is covered by something like this?

I got my Morphy richards for under 100 euro, it was half off at the time. Ive had it for almost a year now and I find it great, it hasn't lost any of its suction, we also have 2 dogs and its great for the hair.

Just bought a Henry a couple of weeks ago - Bought it on amazon. Free postage. It came in at €109 delivered within the week.

We bought one for my dad a few years ago - He has carpet in all rooms except kitchen & Bathroom and it is just great. Carpets look better than they ever did. Great Suction, Really long lead and looks quirky !!

Just got a Vax Mach Air cylinder Bagless vacuum for 132 in harvey normans was dropped from 249. 6 year warranty.
I would recommend this to anyone who has pets. I have a long haired cat thats a bugger for shedding and it doesn't help when he battles with our other cat, lumps of fur everywhere. What usually took 20mins to do the sitting room took 5 mins with this.
