Pellet Boiler vs Gas Boiler

I have a 170sq mt semi d house with with 12 rads (3 of which are small rads) and need to upgrade my boiler and heating system. I am looking at a new gas boiler but I am wondering if a pellet boiler would be cheaper to run.
The current system is old and over the 6 winter months i cost me over 1500 euro to heat the house, monthly bills are expensive too.
I have been trying to find a cost comparison on the running of gas vs pellet but cant find one. Has anyone moved from one to the other to try to save money.
I have read that the cost of pellets have gone up but unlike gas the can be sourced from the north or the uk, which should bean better pricing.
A few years ago peoplegave out because pellets got damp and some boilers were poor but technology should have moved on to prevent this.
    Thanks

    Hi,

Do you mind if I jump on this thread also please? I think its a similar question.

I'm installing a new gas boiler but we'd also like to have a fire in our front room also. Would it be economical to put in BOTH a gas boiler and a stove (probably wood - multifuel), with back boiler and a twin coil hot water cylinder. Or is this just too much money and I probably wont see a return on my outlay.

Thanks - sorry again if I'm not allowed
