DVD recorders no longer on sale?

I am looking to buy a gift for my mum of a DVD recorder but having looked in some shops in Dublin, there doesn't seem to be any. I thought I heard before that Philips etc were no longer making them cos of Sky plus boxes etc.
Is this true? And does anyone know where I can purchase one...anywhere - shop or online?

Yeh might have to take a look at HD ones. They are a bit more expensive.

Don't know if this is a bit late robo but plenty of brands have now stopped due to sky plus.

Toshiba do one at about 199 retail or a dvd/vcr recorder at 249. They're both on to blank dvds,one with a harddrive is 300 plus
