    Hi,

We are looking into going to Singapore for the F1 in September with a few days either side in either Maylasia, Bali or Dubai. For anyone who has been to Singapore before, how long do you think is enough to stay there (bearing in mind most of one day will be taken up with the GP)?

Also, any recommendations of where to stay (both area and hotels)? I'd say it will be mostly shopping when we are there, so near orchard road?

    Cheers

5 or 6 days to get good value and experience, 3 to 4 would be pushing it for what is such a far away and expensive location to get to. Your first day could be tough with the jetlag and adjusting to the humid tropical climate and I always kind of treat that as a lost day unless I am flying shorthaul within europe or whatever.

I stayed at the Ibis on Bencoolen last year and it was a normal typical ibis, nothing fancy but it did us just fine. The Sim Lim Square electronics shopping mall is just up the street.

In addition to the usual hotel sites, check out Asiatravel.com for Singapore.
