32DD Halterneck dress advice.

    Hi everyone!

Just curious to see what you would all do.

I have my uni graduation ball coming up, and I was lucky to find this fabulous dream dress. It fits perfectly but the only problem is, its a halterneck. I'm a 32DD. I need a bra - It was suggested that I go braless, but I haven't a hope without one of them popping out

Its been suggested that I wear a strapless but its very low cutting at the back of the dress, and i don't want the back of my bra showing.

A multi - way strap bra isn't an option either as the straps on the dress are thinish. I would again have the problem of the back of it showing.

Has anyone with tried the eves bra? as it seems it would be ideal for my dress. If not I think I might just try get the straps attached to the back.

Any one else any other advice? :)

Wonderbra, do a brilliant strapless bra. I am the same size and have never felt as supported in any other strapless bra.

+1 for the strapless Wonderbra, but the back does come up quite high to help with the support. I had to google the Eve's bra, I'd never heard of it. It says it only comes up to a D cup. I don't think a stick on is going to do anything for anyone with a bigger bust anyway. I've seen recommendations for Ultimo bodies that have a low back, it might be worth a look at their website.

If you do get the straps altered I find the best way is a criss cross at the back, any halterneck dress I get I alter into a criss cross :D

I picked up an Eve's bra or something similar a while ago on sale in Arnotts, with the intention of wearing it with a strapless dress. I tried it out one day but didn't really find it great, maybe I put it on wrong or something, but I really didn't feel secure in it, and I was only an A cup at the time.

Thanks a million for all the replies:) I don't think I've ever heard anyone complain about the Wonderbra strapless bra. Its just that its fairly low in the back so it would mean it would be on show. I've tried these before with a strapless bra, http://www.yourbraaccessories.com/braza-low-down-bra-straps-style-8050.html and found them very annoying and working themselves up after 1 minute of dancing, no matter how tight I adjusted them.

Yeah that was my thought today when I seen it - didn't purchase. Held it up to me and to be honest I thought I might aswell get a roll of sticky tape than shell out 30 euros for it.

Wow, I actually really like this idea! I'm going to investigate this in the morning - might even give me extra support, and might also give me a better chance of going braless or a better chance of finding something rather than any sort of a contraption like that eves bra :D

Thanks everyone. The curse of finding underwear! :o

    Me!! \o/

And a friend of mine. I'm a C cup & she's an A and we both hated it! The bit underneath the cups is bizarre, kind of sticks out. I was so disappointed, have never been able to find a good strapless bra. I avoid wearing them as much as possible!

I adore the strapless wonderbra, and I'm a 30F, but I do know what you mean about it sticking out under the cups..and it's not down to wearing an incorrect size..I do find though that it doesn't matter because the strapless dresses aren't too fitted...

Right, I know I'm a bit off-topic, but while we're talking about strapless bras - I bought one at Christmas in a 36D, which was my size, and the cups were way too big. I know it's my own fault for not trying it on, but I was in a rush. Now I wear a 34DD and really need a new strapless bra. Was I just unlucky with that one, or does anyone else find they need a different size in strapless bras?

It could just have been that particular style - I think it's just a case where you need to try it on to be sure. I honestly don't trust strapless bras in my size though!

i find that sometimes you need a bigger cup but a smaller back in strapless bras, always found the m+s ones good

I'd say it's just the style too. I can't ever just pick up a bra anymore, I always bring in at least 2 sizes to try on. Pain in the ass, but if I'm forking out for a decent bra, it's worth it.
