Just seen over on thejournal.ie. The 9 year old had €1,500 worth of heroin on him when stopped by gards on his way to buy a horse in Limerick.

I presume he already has a playstation, must be great to live like the other half.......

he was thin, pale, shaking a lot and asked told them he needed bus fare home and money for a horsebox

but mostly it was because he was a scummer

The most important thing in any society is the common good. When it's second place that's what we get and there may well be worse to follow."If it feels good it is good" attitude is out there and it's destroying us.

Hmm, to be honest, reading your description of how 'the other half lives', it doesn't really sound that great.

    Heroin ?

I thought the going rate for a horse was a "bag of yokes"

Or maybe that was back in 1992 ?

    Inflations a bitch !

€1,500 worth? That kid seriously needs to get a grip on horse prices.

The only horse in Ireland still worth €1,500 is Shergar.

Hardly at this stage unless one has access to a cloning lab.

How come that pony on The Simpsons cost Homer $500,000 but here you can get one for 50 quid?

Oh come on...not even McDonalds could get 1500 burger patties out of Shergar.

Meanwhile in financial news, the price of imported pharmaceuticals futures fell sharply today against the equine capital market in frantic early trading on the Halting Site Exchange Index.

Well he was probably shot in 1983, yes, but if he wasn't, it isn't impossible that he's still alive.

Although quite old, there's nothing outstanding about a 33 year old horse, even for Thoroughbreds.

    For those on mobiles:
THE CHILD OF a senior member of a Limerick crime gang tried to swap half-an-ounce of heroin in exchange for a horse, it has been revealed. The drugs were found when the nine-year-old was stopped and searched by a community garda last month in the Ballinacurra-Weston area of the city. The bag of heroin was worth an estimated €1,500, reports the Sunday World. It is believed that the child, who had made his Holy Communion shortly before being caught with the drugs, has now been sent abroad to live with relatives. Last week, the gardaí announced plan to begin 24-hour patrols in areas frequented by the McCarthy-Dundon family.
