I know that every year AH have the charity collection at Xmas but what about the rest of the year?
We all hate the chuggers but most of us would chuck a few cents in to help the less fortunate

So what about an AH fund that is given away every month...not to the usual suspects but to random charities.
Home for unloved dogs in Galway?
    Soup kitchen in donegal?
Youth club needs a new hall in wexford?

Would you chip in every month then choose a random benefactor to avail of the AH pot?

no..that would be the problem for me...I wouldn't like the money to be given randomly....

maybe if it was a random selection from a carefully chosen list...but then you would get people objecting to to certain entries on the list etc

maybe best bet would be a poll to see what the majority would donate to...what are the most popular charities?

+ maybe its motivated by selfishness but I hate direct debit type set ups....I give what I would consider to be generous once off donations but hate ongoing monthly type stuff....just my two cents

I already contribute money to two charities that I care about.

So it would be a no from me as well, I can't afford to donate any more money to charity and still be able to afford my holiday to poverty riddled Africa in October.

I thought that the AH Beers in Galway were already catering for that.

I know we are all struggling but what if you could even chip in 10 cents...no direct debit, say a text to a number.
In keeping with AH style it would have to be a random charity...the usual suspects - goal, concern etc normally get the most coverage anyway.

For just 10c a month, After Hours could make a small difference to someone's life.
