    Hi Just a quick question.

I`m having my kitchen replaced, and my LPG gas fitting to my old gas cooker was using a copper pipe (semi flexible). But the plumber/gas fitter has replaced this with a plastic pipe, looks to be the same hes used for the plumbing. Can you tell me if this is expectable or should he be using copper pipe or something like that?

    Many thanks for the help

The correct way to do it would be to use one of these http://www.partridgeshadleigh.co.uk/catalog/images/0068_LPG_cook_hose.jpg
A black flexible hose that that can be disconnected should the cooker need to be removed. It will have LPG stamped on it somewhere, a similar looking but different hose is used for natural gas. Ordinary plastic plumbing pipe is not suitable for use as gas pipework.
Take a picture of what you have and post it.

Are you sure its not a copper pipe with a plastic covering, if iit`s pex or similar turn it off at the bottle. Did the plumber leave a gas cert with you??

I think its either pvc coated soft copper, he prob used it for the gas fire as well or a bayonette fitting

Is john gest rated for gas? I cant remember. He could have used it.

    I doubt its pex....
