Hey, I am new to running, I am going to do the Dublin Marathon in October. I just heard about the Dingle Marathon, but I won't be in SHape by the time that rolls around in early September. That one looks hard, How do the Dublin and Cork Marathons compare to each other in difficulty? and the Dublin and New York Marathon? thanks in advance.

Dublin and Cork are about the same. Easy enough. New York is apparently a bit harder. Maybe 5 minutes for a midpack runner?

Its the target time not the event which frightens;)

While the likes of Connemara and Dingle are undoubtedly tougher than Dublin or Cork, they're all over the same distance. If you can do one marathon, you can do any.

You're time in Dingle might be 5 or 10 minutes slower than Dublin, though.

Cork is in the summer, so potential for hot weather which you really don't want. New York is big so therefore crowded. I'm trying to think of something bad about Dublin just for fairness, but other than a couple of minor hills it's all good I think.
