Compared to the horse racing my football betting is woreful, in fairness though I don't do much of it :) This log will be with real money not a virtual bank like my Home and Hosed racing log. I'll be using cash in betting offices as opposed to Betfair money as I don't want to be messing about with my Betfair bank.

€20/week will be the limit :) Although if I have a run of good luck I may risk more, €20/week of my own money will be all it will cost me though, worst case scenario.

My own views on football betting, it's a bit of fun with little to no value as the bookies can be trusted to price up a three horse race fairly spot on in my view.

    First bet is

    €20
Liverpool to beat Sunderland @ 1/2
    doubled with
Newcastle to draw with Arsenal @ 5/2

    :D

RJ my advice would be try and stick to singles only. Yes the bookies lure in punters with temptations of higher odds but its not worth it.

For every match their are 3 possible outcomes: home win, draw and away win. When you start doing doubles and upwards the numbers of outcomes increases and becomes harder to win your bet.

    goodluck with log

    RJ my advice ..............

    cheers :)
I agree entirely, I apply those thoughts to my horse racing punting, the €20/week football bet is simply a bit of crack away from horse betting for me.

i see you do a few draws RJ,trebles on these are hard to get up but doubles are the way to go,a 1 point double at say 10/3 and 16/5 wud return over 18 points.
29% of all games in prem last season were draws so just under 1/3,im sure wit a little homework there could be something there

Indeed, the accums I do are meaty pricewise, I don't expect to get more than 3 of them over the season :) I expect to get between 0 and 3 of them up :)

    This week's docket....

    Arsenal v Swansea
    Arsenal win 2-0 5/1

    Bolton v Man Utd
    Utd win 1.0 11/2

    2 €5 singles and a €10 double

Would be nice to get something back if one of them comes in, there's plenty off the double anyway.

I'm working tomorrow and even though there's plenty of time to between now and then to have a ponder about the weekend's matches I have no enthusiasm to do so.

I won't be sticking this out ;till the end of the season, log terminated.

RJ is sticking to the horses :)
