ok to use automatic handbrake?

    well, i've a driving test comming up, and was wondering is it all-right to use a car with an automatic handbrake?
    otherwise ill have to get a car from a driving instructor, or something...

    That website is for the UK driving test, so I'm not sure that you can necessarily assume it'll be ok.

    Ring the RSA who might be able to give you a definite answer.

    I've seen a few threads where people had cars where the handbrake was operated by a pedal (or something like that), which was allowed, but I don't think that's the same as an automatic handbrake.

    Is the car a manual transmission? I know doing the test in an automatic transmission car means that you will be restricted to automatic cars if you pass (and this includes cars where you change the gears yourself but the clutch is automatic e.g. tiptronic transmissions), so maybe an automatic handbrake may be viewed as such (but I doubt it!).

    actually yeah sorry my bad... blonde moment there.. i was sure those locations are the side said West Ireland East Ireland :eek: :o:o dunno how I missed that

    yeah you should definitely just drop an email to the RSA like timbuk2 said
