Returned an item - how long for refund?

I returned a faulty LG Optimus 7 that I saw on Bargain Alerts here. The seller is in Germany but I sent it by registered post and I know they got it on Wednesday. How long should I wait for a refund? I contacted them and they mentioned some rubbish about a "process".

I thought under the DSR that was a certain amount of time in which they had to refund you? I was going to wait until the end of next week and if I've heard nothing, start a PayPal claim.

They have the phone, there should be no time wasting. Start your dispute now, and escalate it to a claim straight away.

You were right jor el. I tried to be nice and let them refund me but a couple of days passed without word. I started a claim this morning and escalated it immediately. Suddenly I got an email from the seller saying they would have refunded me all along except that I forgot to include the "network adapters" with the phone. They asked me to return them.

I don't know what a "network adapter" is! I had a look on Google and I don't think they even give such things out with mobiles. I'm thinking they mean an AC Adapter. I never got that either from them. Not that it would have worked considering the phone was from Germany (2 pin I believe).

I'm wondering is this some underhand way to disrupt the PayPal claim process i.e saying that there's something I forgot to return. I've even searched the house and am adamant I forgot nothing.

This is the first time I've had to claim with PayPal in around ten years of internet shopping.

This crowd are unbelievable. First they send me a faulty phone and leave out the mains adapter. Then they never tell me they are waiting for the adapter to refund. This morning I got an email saying I would be refunded. I waited patiently...until I emailed them again just now. They say it will take a week to refund me!!!!!:mad: WTF!!! I paid through PayPal. Surely all you do is log in and click refund!!! I've sold stuff myself on eBay and seen the "refund" link.

What a shower of crap. Unbelievably they are a top rated seller! I still have a PayPal claim in progress. I wonder would PayPal refund me any quicker?

If they fail to respond to the Paypal claim within 10 days, then you will automatically be refunded. It won't happen any quicker than that, unless the seller clicks the refund button. You're right though, it should only take a second, not 10 days.

A stinking negative feedback is required here.

I hate to say it but ruefully I already left them positive feedback. I won't go into it but I was mistaken at the time. I feel dirty.

That's why they're fuking you around, because they can get away with it now.

I still can't see any good reason to keep a hold onto the money though. Why a week I mean? Just to punish me? For what? Opening a claim? Returning a faulty phone? Just can't see the logic behind it.

    Can you revise your feedback?

I remember I left a negative feedback for a seller and eBay emailed me asking me to revise it, I didn't revise it though.

Maybe it's only if you leave a negative feedback that you can revise, I don't know.

Hope you get your refund OP. Good luck.
