HI lads, at the moment our pa system consists of

    2 x SX 300s
    2x Ev eliminator bins
    Dynacord Powermate 1000 mixer

I know we are not getting the full whack from the whole system as we should be. I am think about adding the set of eliminator mids that i have. I was wondering what kind of power amp and crossover would i need? Maybe you guys could recommend some stuff. Thanks.

Hi its hard to give info without more info your end :D

What crossover are you using already?? or are you just linking and using passive crossovers??

looks like powermate is throwing out 900 a side into 4 ohms so just about enough (skin of teeth) for what you already have but you not getting the full efficiency of the system without any crossovers there is too mu8ch info frequency wise getting into the bins and then the tops are running full range and they really want to be starting around 130-140ish.....

what do you mean by mids? you mean mid hi's?

give us more info and you will get your answer ;)

    Hi - Ok here goes...

    1. Hold the EV SX300's & sell those eliminator tops & bins to some unsuspecting DJ. Now u have cash for real bins :)
    2. Next buy a pair of EV T-18's (or Nolan's copies). 2x these will throw further than 4x of those eliminator yokes & sound a lot better doing it.
    3. Drive all of this with your desk amps - EV T-18 Bins on one side & EV SX300 tops on the other - you can even use the Desks graphic EQ as a poor mans x-over if you're skint. Now you're rocking :)
    4. If you have money left buy a used EV AC-One crossover, gr8 for EV / Dynacord P5 type setups.

If you still have money only now consider an amp 'cos you'll have to spend lotsa shillings to beat those lil dynacord desk amps. I'd look for an old EV P3000 or a Crown Macrotech 3600 (if you wanna get fit) or a lightweight EV CP3000 (if you don't).
...Oh for hard rock I'd look at used 2 x 18" Thomann reflex bins too :D just make sure your amp has the ohms for them...

anyway das my 2p, good luck...
