Have never really done a betting log before but just to keep me interested I'm going to do a bit of a log this year...

rules are I have to bet my entire balance every week... 10 games mean I'll be betting 100% of balance, 9 games and it's 90% etc etc

It's more to keep me interested and make me look closer at teams I'd usually not look at tbh so.. not huge money involved either because I'm poor :p

so for the premier league tommorrow here we go

EDIT - Just realised Tottenham Everton game is called off and my bet has been refunded so scratch that game

So the NFL season is finally upon us

Going to be leaving a couple of bets til the last minute because the nature of the game means that one big player picking up an injury at the last minute could swing an entire game

anyways for the NFL I'm going to be going playing €32 balance to begin with - 32 teams sure why not...

New Orleans Saints @ Green Bay Packers

This is going to be a shootout and a high scoring affair and that's the general consensus among fans as both teams are pass first offences and don't rely on the run to much...

    €1 Green Bay -4.5 @ 10/11
I see GB winning this one with home field advantage and of the back of a superbowl winning season their going to be out to impress the fans I think.. it's going to be a big score (over 50 points won't be surprising) reckon GB have enough to win by a 7-10 points margin so I think there's a good to cover the spread of -4.5

€1 Greg Jennings over 73.5 yards @ 5/6 is the second bet on this game - this is going to be a pass first offense for both sides... Jennings is one of the elite receivers in the league and in the season opener in front of the home crowd I think he's going to have a big one...

Nice start to the NFL there - great game

Green Bay won by 8 points in the end but came down to last play of the game.. Saints stopped on the 1 yard line at the very end..

Greg Jennings also had a pretty good game and picked up 89 yards with a TD

    so 2 bets - 2 wins - nice start

    Titans at Jaguars
Jags dropped their QB during the week so the replacement isn't going to have got to many snaps with the first team - going to hit them this week... Chris Johnson is going to have to impress after his holdout and will be out for a big game to prove he's worth the money (i hope anyways)

    Titans +2 @ 10/11

    Eagles at Rams
I'm an Eagles fan so am going to be slightly biased - but I reckon we have the beatin of the Rams.. going to be a tough matchup though but I think we have enough to bear the 3.5 spread for the simple reason the Sam Bradford is going to have trouble passing deep against the Eagles secondary... this is going to make it hard for the Rams to run up the score and the Eagles have the big play potential in Vick with Jackson out wide...

    Eagles -3.5 @ 10/11

    Bengals @ Browns
This isn't going to be a stellar matchup but the Bengals look poor after loosing Carson Palmer, Chad Ochocinco and Terrel Owens.. Browns aren't an amazing team now or anything but with home field advantage in this divisional game it's going to be enough to help them cover the spread....

    Browns -6.5 @ 10/11

    Steelers @ Ravens
Defense is going to be king in this game so it's going to come down to which offense makes less mistakes... I don't rate the Raven's QB Joe Flacco and I can see him making a few mistakes that will cost the Ravens in this one...

    Steelers +1.5 @ 10/11

    Lions at Buccaneers
This is hard one to call... haven't see much of either team in the preseason but Matt Stafford the Lions QB is being tipped to have a breakout season this year and to help the Lions to become competive again... Buccaneers went 10-6 last year but just missed out on the playoffs... there a strong team and I think home field advantage will help them edge this contest

    Buccs -1.5 @ 10/11

    Bills at Chiefs
I don't rate the Bills at all.. Chiefs had a good season last year albeit against weak opposition... still though.. they have enough to cover the spread of 5.5 here

    Chiefs -5.5 @ 10/11

    Falcons at Bears
This is going to be a big matchup - Bears made the NFC championship game last year while the Falcons ended with a 13-3 season but went out against the Packers... both teams have real potential but Soldier Field is a hard place to visit for any team... I'm backing them with a +2 spread

    Bears +2 @ 10/11

    Colts at Texans
Well enough has been said about star QB Peyton Manning being injured and being potentially out for the season.. however Kerry Collins will bring eperience to the Colts and this isn't going to be a blowout like the bookies are predicting.. Texans will win but won't cover the 8.5pt spread...

    Colts +8.5 @ 10/11

    Giants @ Redskins
Redskins looked like a joke before the preseason... there not that bad as it turns out... Giants have been poor but 9/11 is going to come into play in this one I think... on any other date in the calendar I'd side with the Redskins.. but Giants with an inspired performance to take this... (this bet is potentially going to go heads up saying that)

    Giants -3 @ 10/11

    Vikings at Chargers
I like the Chargers... they were very strong on offense and defense last year but special teams ****ed them up.. a few bad games thrown in their and they missed they playoffs... that's their problem - inconsitency... Vikings to cover the 8.5pt spread

    Vikings +8.5 @ 10/11

    Panthers at Cardinals
Only 4 rookie QBs have won their first game since 1970 and 3 of those 4 QBs played on above .500 teams. Interesting statistic that and Cam Newton I'm looking at you... Cardinals with Kolb and Larry Fitzgerald should be good enough to take this one by 6.5 but I'm going to be keep a eye on Cam Newton.. haven't got to see him play yet but I do here good things... I can see the pressure getting to him in his first start in the NFL...

    Cardinals -6.5 @ 10/11

    Seahawks at 49ers
This is going to be a crap game between 2 terrible looking teams.. 49ers will win it because of home field advantage and because their slightly less bad... going with a under 37.5 pt game in this one because it's too hard to call a winner

    Under 37.5 pts @ 10/11

    Cowboy at Jets
emotions from 9/11 are coming into this one again and the Jets fans are going to be very loud... Mark Sanchez however will screw his team's chances up because he's Mark Sanchez... Tony Romo is finally going to be back in action for the Cowboys and if he stays fit I think there going to be a real dark horse team this season...

    Cowboys +5.5 @ 10/11

only €1 down on each game because I'm stone cold broke and can't afford anymore... because it's the season opener as well there's going to be lots of shocks and madness.. god knows how these games will actually go but that's how I call them anyways

New England Patriots (-7.0) at Miami Dolphins at 10/11

Patriots with Tom Brady and a decent set of receivers around the field should be good enough to win this and cover the spread.... Pats have a new defense this year and it looks pretty good... Miami's Chad Henne isn't exactly a mind blowingly good QB and Miami don't have many big impact players... can't see anything less than a 10-20 win for the Pats

Denver Broncos (-3.0) at the Raiders at 4/5

Raiders have lost star CB Nandi Asoumugha so now teams can pass to both sides of the field against them basically... that's going to hurt the Raiders this season... Raiders didn't look great to me from what I seen in the preseason... McFadden will probably have a decent game but I just don't see them having the players out wide.. They also lost Zach Miller a Pro Bowl TE who was always good for a couple passes a game... just don't see where their going to get the scores from.. Broncos aren't going to be spectacular but will be solid enough to win this and hopefully can cover the spread
