You should get all your information as soon as the first round of secondary students offers have been accepted. Mature students are always in for induction the week of the 5th-9th, followed by your course orientation the week of the 12th.
You probably won't get written confirmation for at least a week or two.

I thought mature students started on the 12th of Sept. I was hoping to have 2 weeks to get the kids settled into school before I was due to start.

Last Chance, I phoned NUIM for the same reasons, was hoping to have kids settled back and debs over before I started. I was told mature student orientation was on 6th and 7th September, rest of first years the following week and lectures starting week of 19th but full information to follow by post. Leaving cert results are out next Wednesday and first offers on 22nd so hopefully sometime that week we'll get confirmation, although I might give them a buzz again on Monday just to be sure. I guess this is what it'll be like all year for us, trying to fit schedules to kids! What will you be studying, I'm doing Arts, History and English I think.

    Hi 2nd Chance

Thank you for your quick reply. Yeah i really wanted to have the kids settled but sure anyway they will have us for the first few days when they go back to school. I'm doing Arts - English, Socilogy and Anthropologyy. I'm getting really excited now about starting are you?

Excited and petrified at the same time
To be honest! From what I've heard for arts we have about 12 hours per week in total which doesn't seem like a lot but lots more hours of study also. I'm hoping my timetable won't have too many 9 am lectures so i can sort kids out but will have to wait and see. I live in Lucan so will probably be up and down several times a day! Have to sort out parking permit next. Looking forward to meeting you in a few weeks.

Ye will be grand! I started back last year after being out of college for a good number of years (I'm 36), it's a bit strange having to do homework again after so long, but you get used to college life quickly.
