    Just thought I'd post this, in case anyone else has a mild interest in pyrography. I've seen it used to nice effect on some carvings and as decoration on furniture.

    So, €9.99 buys you a pyrography "engraver" (as they have it in the ad) in Lidl. Saw it in the Naas branch but these things are usually nationwide.

    Very basic from the looks of it, but might give someone an idea whether they want to invest in the skill.

    From the looks of it, the bits are pretty basic, no locking mechanism or anything so I wonder how easy it would be to machine a tip for hallmarking work?
