Airport Extreme Setup

    Hi

Looking for advice on using Airport Extreme

I have it connected to my UPC modem and have created Wireless N/W

I have attached a HDD to it and when I log into the extreme, I can see the drive, but I cant see it when I am on my mac. I have told it to share over the WAN, I have enabled file sharing by account and added in an account to use

I assume I should be able to see it as I normally would if I plugged it in directly to my mac

How do I actually Access the Extreme and the drive from work?

    Is it via IP ?

Where does the UPC modem come into play? do I connect to it and then the Extreme

Am lost here so any help appreciated

I feel that I am missing something very basic but simple

    Cheers....DT

    EDIT:

I am now able to see the HDD on my mac

The big Q now, is how to access it remotely from somewhere like work

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

I think you need a Static IP for your home, otherwise you won't be able to find the IP address of your home network and thus clients connected to this. I might be wrong though?

Use dyndns.org instead of a static IP
