    hi everybody,

just wondering if any of you paid the VRT recently, can you ans these for me please?

    1. when you paid the vrt, do they give you the price break down? i meant OMSP value of the car+milleage discount+years discount+extra?

2.when they price on a fully loaded car, do they put OMSP value for a base model and add all the extra with it?

3.if any of you have a sample breakdown handy, will you be able to post it here?

    thank you in advance.

Stick your car details into the vrt calculator on revenue.ie and they do show alot of the details you require.
Not too sure about the fully loaded car but they reduce the charges for extras based on age of car with no extras being charged after 4 years old

thanks, i did this already, i am planning to pay the VRT next week and appeal straight away. so i am kinda getting all the information ready to preapear my appeal letter. i already try this on vrt calculator and they suggest according the revenue my car current value is 23k, 16% vrt is 3700 euro. i got the qote for 4800. i cant belive i have to pay 1100 on the extra i have?

also the reason i am asking about the market value is , i cant seems to be find exact same car with same extras to add with the letter. should i just get the base model add which is help to decide the current market value?

forget to say its a late 08 model.
    thanks for the help.

Is it down to the extras or have the NCT staff f*cked up again? They are kinda known for it at this stage, putting in wrong car details or not being able to pick the correct car off the system and then forcing the customer to pay the extra and appeal.

If the car was 3 years old, you would only pay 25% of 16% of the new cost of the extras.
that would suggest that there are over 25k of extras on the car. If less than 3 years old that will be dofferent.
Im open to correct on this too but that is how I see it

car is registered octobor/2008, i know on vrt site they give me 3700 estimated, but i think they r charging me 50% as a 2 years old car?

and NCT center couldn't give me any price, they had to send all the details of the car to head office. and head office called me after few days with the price. dont think they would make this mistake from head office.

thats one of the reaseon why i wanted to know if they give you the breakdown of the price(what % from what value etc.)

    And?

Because old thread can and do have outdated information. Maybe have a read of the forum charter too. The OP might not even remember this thread, why not just PM them?

Was fully aware of the age of the thread prior to posting the reply. Maybe, just maybe it was sarcasm, or.....maybe I'm looking to accumulate historic data and am attempting to raise as many sources as possible for my research?

Why would I want to read the forum charter? Maybe not jump to conclusions as to the rationale behind resurrecting an aged thread.

PM is a unicast communication. By posting openly it may elicit more responses.

Because you are asking people to remember Vrt rules from 5 years ago and try to compare to now.

The OP has likely sold/crashed/never bought the car. They were discussing a 2/3 year old car 5 years ago. You want info on that car ? You want to know his travel costs from 5 years ago ?

Open a new thread and ask would likely get a better response with current info (I would attach roll eyes but I couldn't be arsed).

It sholdn't be that hard to remember. Most people keep recods of things like this.

(took longer for you to type that than roll eyes, no?)
