I keep saying horrible things about stuff I read on the internet

    I have a confession to make.I keep going on horrible,bitter rants about people's accounts on dating sites and blogs, despite it only being their way to express themselves and find love. Why do I have to be so cruel?

    Really? I know loads of people who use them for meeting other people for dates as they have busy lives. They also have no problem chatting up people in bars, clubs etc. Why do you care anyway it's the 2011 and people use lots of different mediums to communicate. Why not rant about something important like our crappy politicians! ;)

    Maybe you haven't found love yourself and you currently don't see any way of doing so. Or you've been hurt in the past and are afraid to get out there again. Are you jealous of these people who are brave enough to go on dating sites and blogs?

    So, you're going out of your way to locate profiles on dating sites, and instead of messaging the person you have a "horrible, bitter rant"

    Perhaps you're looking for love but your rants are the only way you can express yourself.

    Op. You obviously are uncomfortable with your behaviour, but feel unable to stop it. You may need to speak with a professional counsellor. You are not a bad person. You can change your behaviour if you take responsibility for it and get help. It will change your life for the better in all sorts of ways.

    Hi OP! Your name suggests you may have had bad experiences in the past? Maybe you're feeling a little down about your own love life and this is making you lash out at others who are seeking it out? In any case, if this is really distressing you then maybe it would be a good idea to talk to a counsellor (or even a helpline like samaritans) who can help you work through the feelings that are causing this behaviour.

    That does seem a bit extreme alright. How about visualising the person reading the post, sitting at their computer screen and imagining how they'd react. I think on the internet, people can forget that every post is created by an actual person.

    Op, do you ever consider that to the person on the receiving end you more than likely come across as a freaky internet wierdo and they imagine you to be an brute ugly and lonely person who could never get an online date; so you have to rant instead.
