So folks what kind of a festival would put Ireland on the map big time something that would draw bucket loads of tourism.
    Munich has Oktoberfest
    Edinburgh has the fringe
    Glastonbury

Suggestions on a postcard please :p

There's been a festival on in Louth for the last couple of years which I reckon has the potential to be a tourist magnet.

I know it sounds far-fetched, but how about a day in the middle of March when we can celebrate being Irish and stick two fingers up to reality - the world over! ;)

Thats crazy talk, why you'd have to be some kind of saint or something to pull that off.

    The Knacker Massacre.

Think about it: scum from around the country are taken there in the back of vans, offloaded down a ramp into a large circular arena. Thousands of them, in there, waiting for something to happen...and then; a Battle Royal, in the guise of Battle Royale is started, weapons dropped in to them and the last one standing is the winner.

But because they are a knacker too, they'll be shot, society is the winner :)

Oxegen is basically the same as the Edinburgh/Glastonbury one IMO.

Glasto superficially perhaps but the vibe and ethos differ greatly.

    Edinburgh's an arts festival.
