Connecting Laptop to TV

    Hi,

I recently purchased a HDMI lead for my father to connect his laptop to the TV for watching films/docs/sport etc.

Picture works fine but the sound is not being output on the TV. You can still hear it from the laptop but he'd prefer to have it from the TV.

I've tried changing some settings on the Tv but no good. I didn't want to go messing with settings on the laptop itself.

Has anyone any idea of what might help.

Further details can be provided if required.

Hope I have posted this in the right place, if not feel free to move it.

    Thanks

Try to go to control panel, sounds, playback, click on HDMI sound and then the Set Default button.

It's not perfect but maybe you could just use a set of computer speakers, compute speakers should work.
